Music fans who spent a lot of time and effort searching for the perfect wedding singer London has to offer for their special day will have been paying close attention to who were crowned winners at this year’s Grammy Awards.
The most prestigious event in the music industry was held in Los Angeles on Monday (February 15th), with the world’s top singers and musicians turning up to see who walked away with the accolades.
The 58th Annual Grammy Awards saw Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars scoop the gong for Record of the Year, beating the likes of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space and Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud to the title.
Swift and Sheeran weren’t forgotten though, as the Shake it Off hitmaker was given the awards for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989, while Sheeran won Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for Thinking Out Loud.
Uptown Funk also scooped two more awards – Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Other winners of the night included Meghan Trainor, who won Best New Artist, and Muse, who took home Best Rock Album for their Drones LP.
Swift fans would’ve noticed the singer used her acceptance speech to make a thinly veiled dig at Kanye West, after the rapper took credit for her success in a Twitter rant last week.
Taking to the stage, she said: “There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work …. You will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there.” Ouch!
